1. What is the purpose of Musculoskeletal Consumer Review?
Our primary purpose is two-fold:
1. To provide a comprehensive, highly informative, and useful resource for understanding, preventing, and seeking appropriate treatment for musculo-skeletal pain for the general public.
2. To become the premier Asian patient resource for musculo-skeletal pain supplying valuable information that is continually updated with new and useful topics and services.
2. How is MCR different from other sites on back pain and sports injury?
While a significant portion of the information will be the same. After all, the facts don’t change. What is different however, is the Asian angle. Asia’s long history has given us a very different starting point in our understanding of medicine. Most Asian are quite comfortable mixing both Eastern and Western medicine approaches. Our articles approach the topic at hand starting first from an Asian mind-set.
3. Are all the articles generated by the Core Concepts group?
Musculoskeletal pain management is a broad multi-disciplinary field. As such, you will article contributions from experts in other related fields such as sports physicians, orthopaedic surgeons and other pain specialists.
4. Can I rely solely on the information provided on MCR?
No. Information found on this website is not a substitute for professional health advice and consultation, and no one should act in reliance on any statement contained in the information provided and at all times should obtain specific advice from professional medical practitioners should they require medical help or assistance.
5. Why isn’t there a forum section?
Forums unfortunately tend to degenerate into unproductive and uninformative banter. So for now, we would prefer to the discussion focused on the topics presented. So, you are free to post comments to the related articles you see on MCR. If you have questions to topics not listed here on MCR, simply email us at this contact page.
6. May I re-print articles or use?
Most of the articles available here are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 3.0 Singapore License. In the spirit of promoting health education, you may copy, distribute and transmit the work under the conditions specified by the license. For articles re-printed with permission, copyright remains with the original copyright holder (author or publisher). MCR’s Creative Commons License does not apply in such cases.
